1. One day tour to Lai Chi Wo – 28 April 2019

20 EF members and friends joined a one day tour to Lai Chi Wo on 28 April. The Lai Chi Wo village is a traditional Hakka village which was established as early as 1670s and has a long history of farming. The tour guide introduced the Hakka cultural and ecology of Lai Chi Wo to participants. Participants also learnt how to make Hakka snacks by joining Hakka dumpling class taught by Hakka ladies to taste the genuine flavour of local Hakka food.

2. Parent Education Seminar Series (I) – 13 April 2019

The first seminar titled 《學會「想、說、做」,幼童情緒調節好》- 促進兒童情緒能力發展delivered by Mr. Ryan Cheung, Educational Psychologist of the Social Services Department of Po Leung Kuk, was successfully held on 13 April 2019 Saturday afternoon in the Mission Covenant Church Holm Glad Primary School. The Foundation also invited Ms. Kit Wong, Project Officer of EdUHK, to share her experience. About 100 parents and EF members attended the event.

3. Dinner Talk – 2 April 2019

The Foundation held a dinner talk on 2 April at the Chinese Club. We were honoured to have Ms. Betty Lee, Consultant, Educational Services of St. James’ Settlement, and Ms. Alice Chan, Manager, Rachel Club of St. James’ Settlement, as the speakers to share their valuable insights and experiences about Positive Education with the participants. The topic was “Positive Education Journey - Sharing on local practice from kindergartens to secondary schools”. College Principal and her team were also invited to share with the participants the 'Flourishing Teens' positive education programme in the College. The talk was successful held and was very well received by the participants.

4. Kick-off Session of LEAP Mentorship Project 2019-2020 –23 March 2019

The Kick-off Session of LEAP Mentorship Project 2019-2020 was held on the Saturday morning, 23 March at HKUGA College. The Kick-off Session is an occasion where principals, teachers and Secondary 4 & 5 students of many different schools sit together with middle management personnel of reputable corporations to exchange views for the purpose of enabling students to understand industry requirements and make best career decisions.

We were honoured to have Ms. Lancy Chui, Senior Vice President, Manpower Group, Greater China Region, as our guest speaker to deliver a talk on “職場未來”. The following seven corporations from different industries were invited as panelists to provide the participants with brief information about their training programmes, possible work opportunities and entry requirements.

5. Joint Schools Staff Professional Training – 5 to 7 May 2019

Joint schools staff professional training on Positive Education in that a team from Geelong Grammar School was invited to give our teachers training for 3 days on 5-7 May 2019. About 120 teachers from PS & College attended the training. Our Foundation members including Mrs. Annie Chu, Mrs. Fanny Lam, Mrs. Mabel Lee, Mr. CM Mak, Dr. Victor Ng and Mr.Tai Keen Man also attended.
