2025年07月14日-12月06日

Between July and December 2025, the Foundation’s Data Literacy Project Team hosted a series of seminars and workshops to examine the role of artificial intelligence in education and support teachers and schools in practical, classroom-ready approaches.

  1. “Integrating AI with Self-Regulated Learning” — 14 July 2025
Co organized with MEICOM and presented by Dr. Stanley Ho, this seminar examined how AI tools can empower students to take greater control of their learning and strengthen self-regulation skills. Representatives from several schools, including HKUGA Primary School and College, La Salle College, and Taikoo Primary School, attended — fostering cross school exchange and discussion.
  2. Future Movie Makers: A STEAM-Powered Journey with AI & XR — 29 Aug 2025
Co organized with HKUGA, MEICOM and ABCD @iCube, this free hands on workshop attracted 100 parents and students, who explored how Hollywood movies are made using cutting edge technology and STEAM principles, with highlights including creating virtual worlds with XR tools, experimenting with special effects, and learning cinematic storytelling techniques.
  3. HKU JMSC Experience Sharing Session — 15 October 2025
Held at the HUB of HKUGA College, this session was exclusively offered to 28 teachers from HKUGA Primary School and College. Professor Chan and lecturer Foon Lee from HKU JMSC, along with their AI curriculum designers, shared insights on designing forward looking generative AI courses tailored to the evolving needs of learners and educators.
  4. HKU JMSC Generative AI Professional Development Workshop — 6 December 2025
Co organized with HKU’s JMSC, this hands on workshop brought together teachers and educators from various DSS schools to gain direct experience with generative AI tools and to explore practical strategies for integrating AI into school curricula.

These events aimed to build educator capacity, encourage collaboration across schools, and promote responsible, effective use of AI to enhance teaching and learning.
